Dr. Clara Grilo is a researcher at Center for Marine and Environment Studies at the University of Lisbon in Portugal. Her research involves ecological modelling and studying the effects of anthropogenic activities on landscapes and wildlife. Her work focusses on the processes and patterns of underlying species responses towards roads, namely on the effects of road networks on birds and mammals - effects such as behavior, abundance, genetic structure, risk of mortality, and population viability.
She is the Executive Coordinator of the project on “Review of Red Book of Mammals in Portugal and evaluation of their conservation status” at the University of Lisbon. She is a co-founder of IUCN Latin American and Caribbean Transport Working Group
