Planning for and maintenance of linear infrastructure requires gathering of baseline data and continuous monitoring. The Baseline Biodiversity Assessment (BBA) is among the tools available for project planners and managers to ensure robust analytical work. To demonstrate how BBA works, the Narayanghat-Hetauda-Patlaiya (NHP) case was used where various data such as incidence of roadkill and individual crossings are gathered. The findings allowed the monitoring team to plot sightings and movements onto a map, providing guidance for better planning and management.
