Ever bought fake medicine before? Fake drugs, especially for malaria, abound in the Greater Mekong Subregion and puts public health at risk.

Douglas Ball presented on the global problem of substandard or falsified medicines and how they undermine health systems and progress in health policies. Specificically, he focused on substandard and falsified antimalarial medicines in the Greater Mekong Subregion and how ADB is working to address the issue to strengthen regional health security. The lecture is part of the weekly "Health Talks" series organized by ADB's in-house Health Sector Group.
