Douglas Ball is a pharmacist specializing in public health and with 30 years of working experience in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. His areas of expertise include pharmaceutical policy, pharmaceutical supply systems and the rational use of medicines. He holds a Masters of Science in Clinical Pharmacology (Aberdeen University), Masters of Medical Science in Clinical Epidemiology (University of Newcastle, Australia) and a PhD (Newcastle University, UK). He has worked in academia in Zimbabwe and Kuwait prior to entering consulting where he has provided services to the World Health Organization, Health Action International, and ResultsInHealth, a development consulting firm. He is currently a consultant to ADB on pharmaceutical regulation for the RECAP TA to support malaria elimination and control of communicable diseases in Asia and the Pacific .
