In recent years, there have been a lot of discussions and debates about the decision to develop the high-speed rail (HSR ) system in Viet Nam. This article describes work undertaken to provide a better understanding of the competitiveness of HSR over other modes of transport and what might be done to better position their role in providing inter-provincial mobility.
