ASEAN Workshop on Innovative Financing Approaches for Sustainable Infrastructure

Infrastructure in support of sustainable development has a critical role to play in Southeast Asia's economic growth, poverty reduction, and environmental sustainability. 

The ASEAN Workshop on Innovative Financing for Infrastructure was held in the margins of the ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies' Working Group Meeting (AFCDM-WG) to exchange knowledge and experiences on innovative finance approaches for sustainable infrastructure projects in ASEAN. This workshop highlighted approaches that ASEAN members can use on sustainable infrastructure financing needs, which is estimated to reach $184 billion per year in the region. Participants also discussed viewpoints on infrastructure financing in the region.
