Wetland stakeholder analysis involves mapping of the different stakeholders and their roles in wetland management and explores the potential future roles that can help support improvements in the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of the wetland site.

Capacity needs assessment of the Regional Flyway Initiative priority wetland sites looks at the different scales of management from regional down to site-based, the national and local contexts, the site conservation or protection status and designation, and the roles of the stakeholders involved in order to understand the current management capacity and identify the support needed to improve wetland management.
