Stakeholder and Capacity Assessment
The RFI aims to build a business case for sustainable wetlands through the development of project concepts in priority sites along the EAA flyway and the development of financing mechanism through which these projects may be financed. At the heart of this goal is the ability of participating developing member countries (DMCs) to design, manage, and monitor projects/programs (e.g., nature-based solutions) ultimately enhancing nature protection and conservation while optimizing socio-economic benefits for the people. Determining the capacity needs of DMCs will then allow governments (especially local governments), project owners and site managers, to manage such sites in the most sustainable and nature-positive manner while minimizing harmful impacts to both nature and people.
