The National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) represent key opportunities to address the gender dimensions of climate change if undertaken in a gender-responsive manner. Over the years, an increasing number of NAPs and NDCs have been mainstreaming gender. However, there is still a long way to go to make them gender-responsive. This session will explore how countries can pursue gender-responsive NAP processes and the extent to which gender is currently being integrated into NDC documents. During this session, speakers will share tools to support gender-responsive processes to formulate and implement NAPs and NDCs. Finally, the Nepal NDC will be used as a case study of a gender-responsive NDC.
