Water quality models can aid in planning and in assessing the environmental impacts of project-generated pollution. This presentation explains the uses, purposes, limitations, and components of water quality models; their application in the review of ADB-funded projects, with case studies as examples; water quality data collection and assuring data quality; interpretation of model results; the challenges and opportunities in water quality; and the terms of reference for a water quality modeling consultant.
