ADB’s Training Course on Pollution, Health, and Safety Management in ADB Projects was organized in response to an indicated need for better understanding of how the general and industry-specific Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines are applicable to ADB projects, how to assess the environmental impacts of project-generated pollution, and how to identify performance standards. The two-day Water Quality Module of the training course aimed to address this need by covering (i) environmental safeguard requirements in water quality impacts; (ii) water quality models; (iii) wastewater treatment standards; (iv) the concepts, methods, and assessment of Environmental Flows; and (v) the impacts of development on local hydrology.
