ADB's Eduardo Banzon discussed the role of national health insurance (NHI) in expanding primary care services in Asia. He also described the implementation steps needed to enable NHI paying for primary care, analyzed the bottlenecks and barriers of NHI coverage of primary care, and identified interventions that may address the bottlenecks and barriers.
