International Road Transport Union (IRU) started in 1948 and the organization has now grown into a global industry alliance supporting the goals of sustainable development and the facilitation of road transport of its members in over 100 countries. The key programs of IRU, such as the IRU Academy and TIR system, discussed in this presentation, could be of interest to Asian Development Bank staff and their particular projects.
