Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) Hosts Environmental & Social (E&S) Issues Workshop – Dhaka, Bangladesh

TSCFP hosted a day-long event to promote environmental sustainability and social responsibility in trade and supply chains. In addition to delivering over $2 billion in guarantees and loans to Bangladesh every year to support trade, TSCFP aims to make global trade and supply chains green, inclusive, transparent, and socially responsible. This workshop is part of that effort. Around 80 participants including senior officials from the central bank, commercial banks, and other financial institutions attended the event 8 May. CD Edimon Ginting, at the closing of the E&S Workshop emphasized public-private partnerships and commended the efforts of the ADB’s Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP), Bangladesh’s central bank, and the commercial banks for minimizing environmental and social risks in trade and supply chains.

The Workshop on Environment and Social Sustainability aims to update partner banks on best practices and provide lessons learned from key industry leaders from the banking industry, other development banks and subject matter experts in the field.
The Workshop on E.S.G. Practices (Environmental, Social, and Governance) in Bangladesh is happening on 8 May 2023 at The Westin Dhaka. The ADB has engaged subject matter experts to speak on relevant topics, share best practices and tips, and facilitate interactive sessions during the workshop.
