Does Asia Need a Unique Model for Skills Development?
What ideas and initiatives on skills development are most suitable to Asia-Pacific region? This workshop provides some answers.
This workshop was organized in preparation for the International Skills Forum: Skills for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Developing Asia-Pacific. It presented case studies from middle to high income countries in Asia and reviewed completed and ongoing research on skills in the region. Reform initiatives currently underway in skills and secondary education were shared. These provided the platform to explore how skills development enable low income countries to move towards middle income levels and how middle income countries move to high income levels.
