Climate Change as a Security Challenge
21 October 2025

Climate change and environmental challenges can pose risks to human security and peace. As climate and environmental stressors become more pronounced, peace and security risks can also increase, based on context factors that shape vulnerability and resilience. In this session, the CCFE and adelphi talked about the dynamics of climate - environment security risk, and how we can build resilience. The discussion highlighted the case of Papua New Guinea based on a joint climate-environment security assessment conducted by ADB and adelphi.
