Agricultural Waste Burning: Technology Solutions and Incentives 20 June 2023 The Asian Development Bank aims to play a more active role and be a leader in air quality management by scaling up investments and capacity-building support to developing countries in Asia and the Pacific. Through the Asia Clean Blue Skies Program, this virtual knowledge-sharing event discuss the new technologies and best practices for deployment at a local scale to mitigate the air quality impacts of agricultural waste burning. The seminar considers incentives and other measures to enable and encourage farms to find viable and beneficial alternatives to agricultural waste burning. Scope / Aim: This event brings together national policymakers, regulatory authorities, agriculture/agronomy consultants and specialists, NGOs, and ADB project officers to discuss new technologies and best practices for deployment at a local scale to mitigate the air quality impacts of agricultural waste burning. The session also considers incentives and other measures to enable and encourage farmers not to practice agricultural waste burning. This is a half-day virtual workshop held via Zoom.
