20 Years of ADB and Civil Society

ADB celebrates its meaningful engagement with civil society organizations over the past 20 years since the founding of the NGO and Civil Society Center (NGOC). At the same time, the bank looks ahead at the future of its collaboration with civil society in support of the Strategy 2030.
ADB strongly commits to working with civil society, particularly integrating CSOs into ADB-supported projects and programs. CSOs, both operationally focused and advocacy organizations, currently work with ADB across several areas, such as:
- stakeholder engagement throughout the project cycle,
- implementation of ADB-supported projects, particularly in the delivery of social services
- monitoring and evaluation, and
- policy design and review.
CSOs play an invaluable role in helping ADB to strengthen policies and operations and are crucial partners in the development process.
