10th Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network
11 to 13 December 2024

Philippines

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized the 10th Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network (APPeN) on 11–12 December 2024 at the ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines, followed by IT security training on 13 December 2024. This year’s conference focused on the digital transformation of public procurement, highlighting emerging trends in automation and the use of electronic procurement to achieve broader policy objectives and development outcomes.

On 13 December 2024, ADB conducted a one-day introductory training on IT system security. This training allowed conference participants to learn about international standards for securing their e-procurement systems and the importance of building operational capacity for such systems.

Objectives

  • The event continued the knowledge exchange and collaboration efforts of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network.

During the conference, participants had the opportunity to:

  • Develop a wider network of e-GP experts and public sector managers involved in developing and implementing e-GP systems in their respective countries;
  • Exchange views and foster better inter-regional e-GP cooperation and cross-border trade;
  • Interact with ADB procurement specialists to gain a deeper understanding of ADB’s approach to e-GP;
  • Identify potential areas for e-GP cooperation at bilateral and regional levels.
