Experience of Mobile Phone Survey in Sri Lanka on Technical and Vocational Education and Training

Using results-based lending, Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s project on skills sector enhancement in Sri Lanka sought to improve the employability of youth who graduated from ADB-supported technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs to 52% in 2016. Interactive voice response, a digital technology using automated phone calls, was used to verify whether TVET graduates are currently employed.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development is proposing for the integration of skills development in infrastructure projects as part of its cooperation agreement with Asian Development Bank and its member countries.
