He has led or contributed to more than 50 projects on the circular economy, extended producer responsibility (EPR), solid waste management and sustainable tourism. Maria Delia Cristina Valdez

Delia Valdez has been with the Environmental Management Bureau or EMB since 1996. She is currently the Supervising Environmental Management Specialist at the Office of the Assistant Director, and is the interim head, of the EPR Review Committee, at National Ecology Center. Ma’am Del was the former OIC Chief of the Solid Waste Management Division and the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Undersecretary for Solid Waste Management and Local Government Units Concerns. 

Maria Hughes

Maria Hughes is an Associate Programme Management Officer at the UNEP Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. In her work, she focuses on accelerating circularity and sustainable consumption and production in collaboration with regional and global partners. Before joining UNEP, Maria gained experience in accelerating the circular economy on a global level through the World Circular Economy Forum and by working with a network of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. Maria has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Turku, Finland.
