Road Safety Management 7 - Financing

Without funding, no road safety performance improvement is possible. Funding sources exist and need to be explored.

Road safety improvement requires adequate funding, management, and technical capacity. Funding for road safety initiatives is currently inadequate in most lower middle income countries. Without substantial funding, large-scale change management efforts cannot be meaningfully addressed.

ADB-ASEAN Regional Train the Trainer Road Safety Capacity Building Program

The Train the Trainer approach offers an efficient method of providing specific road safety expertise to strengthen the road safety programs of participating countries.

This program aimed to (i) improve participants' knowledge of technical approaches to road safety in the focus areas; (ii) prepare participants as trainers so that they are able to deliver follow-up training in their home countries; and (iii) improve the overall capacity of responsible agencies to effectively address road safety issues.
