Water users from different sectors in Sri Lanka face challenges as demand for water has continuously increased in the last few decades. Getting user involvement in water allocation and water resources planning is essential to meet demand in the country.

Policy questions require multiple models at a variety of scales. There is a need to adopt a policy decision tool that is integrated into the organizational workflow, and an action plan that will make it possible to do so.
