Accelerating the development of new and renewable energy (NRE) in Indonesia is necessary given the vast availability of these national resources. Complementary to this endeavor is the establishment of a Center of Excellence on Clean Energy that aims to combine various efforts in the development and deployment of NRE.

This presentation features Playware Studios Asia, a technology company based in Singapore that specializes in games for learning. The company, through its creation of both software and hardware products and integration of the two for some projects, aims to enable sustainable democratic knowledge economies.

This presentation shares the teaching factory concept, a practice and application-oriented training approach utilized by Batam State Polytechnic in Indonesia that combines the learning and real working environment. The benefits and advantages of this type of educational method are explained.
