Maria Hughes

Maria Hughes is an Associate Programme Management Officer at the UNEP Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. In her work, she focuses on accelerating circularity and sustainable consumption and production in collaboration with regional and global partners. Before joining UNEP, Maria gained experience in accelerating the circular economy on a global level through the World Circular Economy Forum and by working with a network of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. Maria has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Turku, Finland.

Elvis Au

Professor Elvis Au, BBS, is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong, teaching circular economy, sustainable waste management, and carbon neutrality, among others. He is the former Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Department of the HKSAR Government and the former President of the International Association for Impact Assessment. He has over 40 years of experience (including 32 years in the Government) in environmental protection and sustainability.
