Dr. dr. Then Suyanti, MM, serves as Director of Environmental Health at the Ministry Health of Indonesia. She earned her medical degree in 2003, a Master of Management in 2013, and a Doctorate in Government Science in 2025. She previously served as Director of Public Health Governance and Head of the Health Office of Bangka Regency, successfully leading the region to achieve Frambusia-Free status in 2023.

Mengya BU is an engineer at the Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences, where she focuses on methane emission reduction strategies in China’s oil and gas sector. Her expertise lies in detecting and repairing methane leaks, managing emissions, and promoting integrated approaches that address both methane and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). By working on these issues, she contributes to improving air quality and reducing greenhouse gases, aligning with China’s broader climate goals.

With over 20 years’ experience working in environmental affairs, policy and external cooperation, Sangmin Nam provides strategic guidance for the planning and implementation of the UNESCAP work on Sustainable Management of Natural Resources, Climate Change, and Sustainable Urban Development.

UNESCAP promotes inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in the Asia-Pacific region, with priority accorded to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Yujeong Kim is a Senior Programme Management Officer for the United Nations Environment Programme’s Asia Pacific Office based in Bangkok. Her current work focuses on enhancing environmental science-policy interface in the region. Before joining UNEP, she worked for the Office for Sustainable Development of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, where she led capacity building and policy advisory activities aimed at accelerating the achievement of the SDGs for Member States.

Cecilia Vaca Jones oversees Breathe Cities’ strategic direction across its 14 cities, working closely with city leaders, community groups, and technical experts to expand access to air quality data and build healthier cities.

Haixia Dai is a Senior Engineer at the Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences, where work focuses on environmental monitoring, air quality assessment, and emissions control. Dai has contributed to projects developing intelligent supervision systems for heavy‑duty diesel vehicle emissions in Shanghai, supporting urban sustainability and regulatory enforcement. This research has been shared at international knowledge‑exchange platforms, highlighting practical approaches to pollution reduction and environmental management in megacities.

Xiu’e Shen is the Director of the Beijing Municipal Ecological and Environmental Monitoring Center, a leading institution responsible for monitoring and analyzing Beijing’s air, water, and soil quality. She plays a key role in advancing high-tech environmental monitoring systems, including mobile atmospheric monitoring and large-scale modeling of pollution sources.

Tang Yi is an Associate Professor at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, specializing in air pollution prevention and control strategies in China. He has contributed extensively to research on joint prevention and control of air pollution in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas, with a focus on policy integration, scientific innovation, and sustainable development.

Sergio Sánchez is the Senior Policy Director of Global Clean Air for EDF Health, working globally to implement air pollution abatement policies and climate change mitigation strategies. Previously, he served as México’s Vice Minister for Environmental Protection and the Director General for Air Quality Management within México’s Ministry of Environment, as well as Director General for Environmental Projects within the Mexico City Government. He also led the Clean Air Institute as the Executive Director, working all over Latin America for more than a decade.
