Pierre Cazelles

Mr. Pierre Cazelles is Director of Global partnerships for the International Copper Association and has worked for over twenty years in Asia as an international policy expert, including nine years in China. Mr. Cazelles has also worked in the field of renewable energy, including as CDM consultant, and is now the Director of CORE, a new initiative that supports rural electrification projects.

David von Hippel

David’s work for the Asian Development Bank since 2013 has focused on climate resilience assessments and other analyses of energy systems and infrastructure under a changing climate. As an independent consultant based in Eugene, Oregon, David works and has worked for many agencies, including ADB, the United Nations, the World Bank, Nautilus Institute, USAID, and many others on a broad range of energy and environmental topics in dozens of countries.

Atsumasa Sakai

Atsumasa Sakai joined ADB in 2016 and have worked on energy sector operation in the East, Central, and West Asia since then. Before joining ADB, he had worked for the World Bank responsible for power development projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, and for the power utility in Metropolitan Tokyo responsible for power system planning and international cooperation with overseas utilities. 

Yuichi Arita

Yuichi Arita is a director for the Overseas Environmental Project Department in City of Kitakyushu, Japan. He has three years of experience in "Kitakyushu Asia Center for Low Carbon Society" established in 2010 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Asian region by support for technological transfer, training experts, and information dissemination.

He has been in charge of several projects related to energy management, recycling and waste management in collaboration with local governments in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Palau.
