James is responsible for integrating circular economy and innovative approaches to balance economic, social, and environmental development across ADB’s agriculture, food, and natural resource activities in support of Operational Priorities 3 and 5. His previously lead ADB’s the regional marine plastic reduction program and the implementation of the Healthy Oceans Action Plan. Prior to ADB, James held senior project development, operational, and investment roles with Climate Change Capital, EON Masdar, and Cemex.

Merrin combines his engineering background and his natural human-centric approach to identify, develop and implement solutions drawing on his broad sustainability experience and expertise. His international experience includes work with corporates, government departments, industry organizations, NGOs, and SMEs.
