Regional Perspective on Environmental SDGs

This presentation offered perspectives and efforts on implementation of the environmental dimensions of the SDGs and provided an overview of the status of SDGs 6, 7, 11, 12, 14, and 15 in Asia and the Pacific. It also stressed the importance of dynamic and holistic frameworks that bring out SDG interactions, inter-ministerial and cross-sector cooperation, stakeholder engagement as a driver for transformational societal change, and improving environmental data systems.

Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) Tools and Approaches

This presentation discussed SPREP's regional initiatives, tools, and approaches, as well as their 2017–2026 Strategic Plan’s four regional goals, which includes strengthening resilience to climate change, healthy and resilient island and ocean ecosystems, improved waste management and pollution control, and commitment to and best practice of environmental governance.

ESCAP’s Methodology for Integration of the SDGs into National Planning and Application to SDG 6 (Water and Sanitation)

This presentation presented some key statistics and trends on water resources in Asia and the Pacific, some systems observations related to water, and the crucial role that water plays in ensuring the provisioning of ecological services. She also emphasized the importance of governance, scientific data, and stakeholder engagement in SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) implementation.

gLOCAL Insights: Support to Sustainable Transport Solutions in light of the COVID-19 Crisis

ADB's Independent Evaluation Department (IED) assessed the performance and results of ADB's transport support between 2010-2018, which aimed to provide sustainable transport solutions in the region. The panel discussion focused on the results, issues, impact, and recommendations on how ADB can further strengthen the development results of ADB's transport interventions. This virtual event was organized in support of the gLOCAL Evaluation Week.
