A K Kalesh Kumar (Kalesh), is World Bank Lead Procurement Specialist and Procurement Hub Coordinator for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand based out of Hanoi, Vietnam.
Kalesh has an extensive background, having worked in public procurement for 25 years in World Bank, UNICEF, UK DFID, and the Government of India. He joined World Bank India office as a Senior Procurement Specialist in 2007 and career highlights include serving as Procurement Capacity Building Coordinator for South Asia Region; as Country Procurement Lead for Afghanistan and Procurement Hub Coordinator for Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos based in Bangkok.
He has also been instrumental in developing and rolling out e-learning programs for Borrowers on the World Bank's 2016 Procurement Framework and establishing the World Bank's public procurement knowledge platform, www.procurementinet.org.
Kalesh holds a post-graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) and is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).
