Kalyan Thapa is an expert in bioengineering with over 25 years of experience in ecological restoration and sustainable infrastructure solutions. As the Environment and Grounds Manager at Trinity Western University (TWU) in Langley, BC, Kalyan specializes in bioengineering techniques for climate resilience, water management, and land rehabilitation. His career began in 1989, pioneering plant-based slope stabilization methods in Nepal’s Dharan-Dhankuta Road. Since then, Kalyan has led impactful projects globally, including in Bangladesh, Uganda, DPR Korea, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, India, and Nepal, working with organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, Swiss Development Cooperation, and the British Columbia Infrastructure Plan.

Currently pursuing a Master’s in Resources and Environment Management, Kalyan is committed to advancing cost-effective, environmentally sustainable solutions for infrastructure development, with a focus on bioengineering's potential to enhance climate resilience and improve water management.
