Profile / Bio: 

Haider Raza, a Pakistani national, joined the World Bank in June 1999 and is currently leading the Country Procurement Team in Kathmandu, Nepal. His illustrious career spans over three decades, encompassing roles in research and development, procurement management, project management, construction/contract management, and dispute resolution. Haider's journey with the World Bank began in Colombo, where he served as the Country Focal Person (Procurement) covering Sri Lanka and Maldives. His expertise extends to supervising and preparing numerous projects financed by the World Bank and delivering training on procurement processes, contract management, and market sounding, notably enhancing project performance and increased disbursement rates.

Being a Chartered Civil Engineer, Haider is passionate about infrastructure projects. His international experience includes over nine years in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, as well as extensive public sector service in Pakistan. His leadership and team-building abilities have been instrumental in his successful tenure spanning over four decades. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Haider has mentored many junior colleagues, helping them ascend to senior management roles. He remains a beacon of knowledge and leadership in procurement and contract management.
