Profile / Bio: 

Mr. Jeong has 27 years of professional experience, including over 15 years in ADB. Prior to joining the bank, he held senior positions in the Republic of Korea (ROK)’s Ministry of Strategy and Finance in areas such as economic policy, international finance and international economic affairs.

He joined ADB in July 2009 as an economist and worked extensively in regional cooperation and operations. He transitioned to South Asia Department Regional Cooperation and Operations Coordination Division in August 2014 as Senior Economist (Regional Cooperation) and was promoted to Principal Economist in December 2016.

In 2018 Mr. Jeong moved to ADB’s India Resident Mission where he served in senior roles, including as Deputy Country Director. He was instrumental in enhancing relationships with development partners, facilitating efforts to lower the cost of financing to clients, enhancing knowledge operations, and coordinating ADB’s support for India’s G20 Presidency.

He transferred to the Bangladesh Resident Mission in September 2024 as Country Director for planning and implementing ADB Bangladesh operations. Mr. Jeong is a national of the ROK. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington, United States, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Seoul National University, ROK.
