Stakeholders Consultative Workshop on Corporate Farming Laws in Pakistan

The Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) is drafting a piece of legislation for corporate farming: (i) support corporate farming, (ii) corporateize smallholder farming, and (iii) contract farming. The draft laws would incorporate the best international practices and lessons learned to transform Pakistan’s agriculture.
In this context, a consultative workshop on Corporate Farming Laws was organized by the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Capacity Development Resource Center (CDRC) initiative and the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) on 21st December 2023. During the workshop, a detailed discussion was carried out on the draft laws, which will eventually assist in finalizing the legislation.
