Undral Ganbaatar is responsible for the Social and Human Sciences sector at UNESCO's Jakarta Office which oversees UNESCO's operations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines and Timor-Leste. The sector oversees implementation of the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. Currently, UNESCO is assisting 58 Member States to carry out a national AI Readiness Assessment, including several ASEAN countries. Previously, Undral was based in the UNESCO Bangkok Office working on the same agendas for ethics of science and technology and inclusive social policy.
She holds a Masters degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford and a Bachelors in International Relations from the National University of Mongolia.
