Roy Himawan, born in Jakarta on August 6, 1983. He completed Pharmacy Education in 2004 at Gadjah Mada University, followed by professional pharmacist education in 2005. In 2012, he completed his master's program in the field of public health at the University of Indonesia.
Roy Himawan started his career at the Ministry of Health in 2006. He had assigned for various task in pharmaceutical and medical device sector, including on standardization of products, planning and evaluation, and public information. Since 2022, he has been assigned as Director of Pharmacy Resilience and Medical Devices, Ministry of Public Health–Kemenkes, Government of Indonesia, which looks for the policy setting on building local production capacity and sustainable access, including utilizing innovative research on pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and medical device.
