Dr. Suchita Markan is a Scientist and Mission Charge of the Medical Device and Diagnostics Mission Secretariat (MDMS) at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Dr. Markan is an expert in Biomedical Research, Public Policy & innovations in medical devices, and the diagnostic sector with over 18 years of experience. She has led developing and implementing strategies and policies for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship with a wider public health impact. She is a thought leader and has represented the country’s health agenda, particularly from medical devices, diagnostics, innovation, and entrepreneurship perspectives at national and international forums. She also serves as an expert on various institutional committees in this sector.

Recognizing her contributions, Dr. Markan was selected as an Emerging Leader for Biomedical Innovation and Entrepreneurship under the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the United States Department of State. She has also been nominated for the Leadership Exposure Program in Health Innovation Management of Cornell University, New York.

Dr. Markan holds a doctorate from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and completed her Executive General Management from IIM Lucknow and Executive Program in Public Health Policy, Leadership and Management from AIIMS Jodhpur. She is a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) certified by AUTM, USA and STEM, India.

She has numerous national and international publications to her credit.
