Profile / Bio: 

Beau is the Natural Resource Officer – Climate Change and Climate Finance – for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. Over the past 19 years Beau has worked as a natural resource management specialist focused on promoting equitable, climate resilient and low emissions development.

Beau has experience delivering regional and national policy and field–level technical assistance programs on climate change adaptation and  mitigation and renewable energy development in over 25 countries in South, Southeast Asia, the Pacific and Southern Africa. Beau leads FAO’s regional programmes on climate transparency in the AFOLU sectors, climate smart and resilient agriculture and inclusive and sustainable rice landscapes. Beau is also leading FAO’s regional initiatives to strengthen regional engagement and scale-up climate finance investments in the agriculture and land-use sectors in support of the UNFCCC Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Previously, Beau has worked as a senior policy analyst for the Australian Government’s Department of Resources and Energy in Canberra, Australia, and as a Senior Climate Change specialist for the International Centre for Environmental Management in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
