Dr. Sirirat has been an Environmentalist at the Air Quality and Noise Management Division, Pollution Control Department for 15 years. She coordinates relevant organizations to mitigate transboundary haze pollution and air quality in Thailand.
Dr. Sirirat has researched the management of vegetation fires in the north of Thailand and neighboring countries by using an air quality model to simulate scenarios for potential fire controls to find the optimal pollution reduction targets from selected areas and a study on health impacts and socio-economic losses caused by open burning. She also coordinated the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and relevant organizations to generate measures for air quality and climate change in Thailand.
In a part of mitigating transboundary haze pollution in ASEAN, especially in the Mekong Sub-region. She has joined the relevant meeting to drive all the Mekong countries to agree to extend the Chiang Rai 2017 Plan of Action to 2030. She is part of a team to develop a Joint plan of action among Thailand-Lao PDR- Myanmar to tackle transboundary in this area. To solve transboundary haze pollution, she also focuses on the capacity building program on air quality management in the Mekong Sub-Region.
