Tanmay Tathagat is Director of the organisation Environmental Design Solutions [EDS]. He has a background of architecture and engineering. Over the last 30 years, he has worked on issues of climate change mitigation and sustainable development, building energy efficiency, indoor air quality, green buildings, and standards and labeling in Asia, Africa and the US.
Tanmay leads the EDS team of multidisciplinary professionals working on projects that embody sustainable solutions for the built environment, designing buildings and communities, which are contextual, climate responsive, and focus on comfort and well-being of the occupants, while ensuring the least possible environmental footprint.
Tanmay’s work ranges from global and national scale for developing and implementing policies such as the Energy Conservation Building Codes (ECBC), Energy Efficiency Labeling program, Green Finance and Mortgages, to integrated building design, construction, and operation. He has supported leading global firms on their journey towards sustainability, setting the benchmark for low environmental impact. Tanmay is a part of the several initiatives on decarbonization at the global and national levels.
