Jesper Petersen is the Regional Head of the Operations Coordination Unit in Central and West Asia Department. Mr. Petersen is a national of Denmark. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Southern Denmark. He has 26 years of work experience, including 14 years in the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
He joined ADB in August 2009 as Portfolio Management Specialist in Cambodia Resident Mission and transferred to Viet Nam Resident Mission in August 2012 where he was promoted to Senior Portfolio Management Specialist in December 2012. He was transferred to the Office of the Director General, Southeast Asia Department in September 2014. He was promoted to Principal Portfolio Management Specialist in April 2016 and became the Advisor and Head of the Results, Safeguards and Gender Unit in August 2019. He has broad experience in portfolio management across sectors and regions which includes financial management and procurement, quality assurance, pipeline formulation and monitoring, and; gender mainstreaming and safeguards compliance. Prior to joining ADB, he worked in the African Development Bank and the World Bank.
