Luang Prabang Smart and Integrated Urban Strategy: Urban Scenario Report

The Urban Scenario Report covers the second stage of a three-stage process to develop the Luang Prabang Smart and Integrated Urban Strategy. In this urban scenario stage, population and visitor numbers were projected up to 2040 to analyze different urban scenarios with varied urban growth trajectories. This Urban Scenario Report also looks at land use projections to ensure sufficient land is identified for growth while protecting the integrity of the Luang Prabang historic township. The report should be read in tandem with the Urban Assessment Report since both documents assess the needs and potential of Luang Prabang. Findings from both reports were used to guide the development of smart city strategies and priority projects in the Urban Strategy.

Preparation of the strategy is supported by the ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund, which is financed by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, managed by the Asian Development Bank, and implemented by Ramboll.
