Having worked for a Japanese commercial bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Japanese Government, Mr. Shiihara joined the Asian Development Bank in September 2008. Since then, he has been involved in the processing as well as administration of energy sector projects for countries like Bhutan, India, and Nepal while working for South Asia Department. In March 2020, he was transferred to Pacific Department, after which he has been designated the Project Administration Unit Focal, in charge of the administration of energy sector projects for the Pacific, together with the processing of new energy sector projects.
