Luang Prabang Smart and Integrated Urban Strategy: Urban Assessment Report
The Urban Assessment Report covers the first stage of a three-stage process to develop the Luang Prabang Smart and Integrated Urban Strategy. In this urban assessment stage, data and documentation were analyzed to identify the city’s current challenges and opportunities, including from a gender equality, disability, and social inclusion perspective. Community leaders, civil society, government officials, entrepreneurs, youth, and women working in the night market were consulted in person and through online surveys to understand their aspirations for the city. The report provides an in-depth examination of the urban context of Luang Prabang and the different priority subsectors where smart city solutions could be developed and applied.
Preparation of the strategy is supported by the ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund, which is financed by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, managed by the Asian Development Bank, and implemented by Ramboll.
