Mariko Shibasaki received B.A. (Environmental Studies) in Natural Language Processing from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University, and M.A. (Environmental Studies) in Behavior Analysis using Mobile Data from the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, the University of Tokyo. After that, she worked for IBM Japan as a Client IT Architect in the fields of logistics, retail/financial industry, and education, where she proposed and developed core systems and services, and developed DX strategy and AI-based services, as well. In 2018-2019, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at LIRNEAsia (https://lirneasia.net/), a non-profit research institute in Sri Lanka, and engaged in research on behavior analysis and life pattern classification of people using mobile data in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and African countries using CDR data. From 2022. She joined LocationMind Inc. an AI and locational data analysis start-up company from the University of Tokyo. She pursues mobile big data analysis on people behavior focusing AI-based human mobility prediction system for disaster reduction and urban transportation planning.
