Dr. Shang Gao is the APJ Regional Director for Amazon Web Services Skills to Jobs. Her team focuses on driving cloud and technology adoption in the education sector through education systems. She leads strategic dialogues and implement programs through governments in the region to build the future of cloud workforce and meet the industry demand. As the leading practitioner in cloud, AWS provides educational programs and platforms to help learners of all age gain skills and move forward on the path to employment. Dr. Gao is an Education Economist by training. She has spent majority of her career in education development prior to joining AWS. Dr. Gao was an Education Economist at both Asian Development Bank and the World Bank Group. Throughout her career in International Organizations, she primarily focused on designing and implementing projects that focused on systematic improvements and national education reform in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa regions. Her projects covered primary, secondary, TEVT, and higher education subsectors.
