State environmental assessment is a necessary environmental measure, carried out in the course of decision-making on the issue of environmental licences for the bodies performing activities. These activities include business, industrial or any other types of activity, drafting and development of plans, infrastructure projects, construction and sector development plans, projects for exploitation and use of waters, forests, mineral wealth, land and other natural resources on the territory of Georgia; also activities required for major reconstruction and technical and technological rennovation of the existing enterprises.
