Water demand is projected to double globally by 2060. While demand management remains a key approach to ensure water sustainability, research and development (R&D) has also been working on securing a robust, sustainable, affordable and reliable water supply. R&D efforts are geared towards increasing water resources, protecting water quality and security, and reducing production cost.
