Steve Jones is a Yorta Yorta Aboriginal man and is passionate about giving back to his people. Steve is Chair of i2i Global - a majority-owned Aboriginal Advisory Services company that optimises the employment of indigenous people and enhances indigenous business capabilities to pursue targeted opportunities; assists in the design and delivery of Indigenous Engagement Strategies; the implementation of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap - Closing the Gap Socio-economic Outcomes, and identifies and delivers on social impact investments to improve the social and economic welfare of Australia’s First Peoples. Steve’s focus is on being a conduit to enable aboriginal people to reach their potential, and companies to become successful in the pursuit of business opportunities throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific Region. After 31 years in the Australian Army and 18 years in the commercial world, he believes he has the experience and knowledge to assist individuals and companies to succeed.
In January 2001 he was awarded the prestigious Member of the Military Division of the Order of Australia in recognition of his outstanding performance. He was and still is, recognized as both a proactive manager and a 'change agent' who has a simple philosophy that the best way to manage change is to create change.
Steve earned his EMBA in 1998 from the Australian School of Management, University of NSW. He also holds a BA (Military Studies) from the University of NSW; a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies, from the University of Canberra; and a Graduate Diploma in Defence Studies from Deakin University.
