The Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Internet Operation Technology (APRICOT) took place in Manila in February 2023, attracting over 700 participants from 40 countries. The presentation delved into the concept of Meaningful Connectivity and the challenges faced by rural and remote populations due to geographical and financial constraints. It analyzed the existing access gaps and potential solutions, including technological, regulatory, and investment strategies aimed at bridging digital divides. By emphasizing the importance of last-mile connectivity, the talk encouraged carriers to pursue affordable, resilient, and reliable solutions for their rural and remote communities, fostering a more inclusive digital future.
